The application package must include the following items. Please make sure
your name appears clearly on each document:
- Application form (download link above), filled out in English. Must
be emailed.
- Academic resume (no more than one page). Must be emailed.
- A clear, concise summary (no more than ten pages) of your dissertation
topic, including the dissertation’s title and a list of works cited
within the summary. Must be emailed.
- Academic transcripts (undergraduate and graduate). Official transcripts
must be received by the Claims Conference stamped with the college or university
seal. Photocopies will not be accepted. Must be mailed.
- Scores from standardized exams necessary for admission to an academic
graduate program (such as the Graduate Record Examination-GRE), where applicable.
Photocopies are acceptable. May be mailed or emailed.
- Three letters of recommendation. One must be from an academic advisor
in Shoah studies who has worked closely with the applicant, and one from
a supervisor who is well-acquainted with the applicant and their experience
in a professional or volunteer setting. The third may be from anyone the
applicant wishes. Must be emailed.
- Copies of documentation for any additional funding the applicant has
received or applied for from elsewhere (pending applications, acceptance
letters, etc.) These must include the amount offered/applied for and the
dates covered. May be mailed or emailed.
